Barry Sanders is widely considered one of the greatest running backs in NFL history. He played for the Detroit Lions from 1989 to 1998 and is known for his incredible quickness, agility, and ability to make defenders miss. He was a ten-time Pro Bowler, a six-time First-Team All-Pro, and won the NFL MVP award in 1997. He rushed for over 1,500 yards in each of his ten seasons and retired with the third-most rushing yards in NFL history at the time. Despite his incredible success on the field, Sanders was known for his humility and sportsmanship off the field. He abruptly retired at the peak of his career, leaving many fans and analysts wondering what could have been had he continued to play.
