Monitoring the salinity, pH and temperature of the water is an important routine in the maintenance of a marine aquarium or marine aquaculture. The Hann HI981520 is an easy-to-use monitor that continuously monitors and displays salinity (via electrical conductivity, “EC”) and pH.

The system can be calibrated at one or two points for pH and at one point for conductivity. Seawater salinity is displayed in either parts per thousand (ppt), practical salinity units (PSU), or specific gravity (SG).

A high/low alarm can be configured for each parameter. Measurement results are continuously displayed on a large, easy-to-read LCD. The permanently attached 2-ring conductivity probe features an integrated temperature sensor for fast, highly accurate temperature measurements. The HI1286 gel-filled pH electrode features a PEI body that is easy to clean and resistant to many harsh chemicals. In addition, the double diaphragm design is less prone to clogging and ensures fast and stable readings. The pH electrode is replaceable.
