Seeded Glass Ashtray

We offer a 1950's era hand blown Blenko ashtray in a blue colored glass with applied controlled air bubbles referred to as seeding.

The ashtray appears in the early catalogues and print ads showing products mainly designed by Bill Blenko, Sr. and predates the hiring of Winslow Anderson in 1947 and Wayne Husted in 1952.

The 1951 Blenko catalog lists the ashtray as B-508 and the color is Ice Blue which was produced from 1951-1953. The base is polished with a partially polished pontil mark. The ashtray weighs 3 pounds 4.3 ounces and measures 6 1/2" in diameter and 2 1/8” in height. As seen in the photographs, the base has age appropriate surface scratches.

In very good vintage condition free of chips, cracks, breaks or repairs.
