For sale via this listing is a single NOS clutch release bearing (ball type - supplied with carrier). This bearing is in Sachs packaging that carries a Sachs reference but that was probably assigned only for marketing purposes, as the bearing itself carries markings that suggest that it was actually manufactured by someone else ("distributed by SACHS").
The reference on the packaging is 3151 826 001 and the same reference also appears on the bearing itself.
I can't find Fichtel & Sachs 3151 826 001 in my Borg & Beck catalogues but I have deduced that it's equivalent to a Quinton Hazell bearing via their reference CCT315 and ought to be further equivalent to Borg & Beck bearing HD5096
The earlier era applications found via CCT315 & HD5096 are as follows:
- Citroen AX
- Citroen BX
- Citroen XM
- Citroen ZX
- Citroen C15
- Peugeot 106
- Peugeot 205
- Peugeot 306
- Peugeot 309
- Peugeot 405
- Peugeot 605
- Rover Group Metro (K Series engine), 1990 onwards
- Rover Group 100 & 114
- Rover Group 214
- Rover Group 414
- Please note: There is a lot more detail to go with the above uses but I don't wish to attempt to transcribe it all from my catalogues, so please enquire if something more specific about the use of this bearing on a particular model range would be useful to know before making your decision about a purchase
- Please note 2: I suspect that there may be other applications for this bearing that are too modern for my catalogues and that may include other makes, such as BMW (Mini?) and Fiat/Lancia (collaboration with Citroen/Peugeot?). I can only find this sort of information from online resources and not from my own library, so I shan't speculate on those possibilities any further for the purposes of this listing
Working backwards from HD5096 in a Borg & Beck cross reference list gives the following manufacturer's part numbers for this bearing:
- Citroen 91537419
- Peugeot 2041.42
- Unipart GRB615
This item is still in its original packaging and seems to be in good unused condition. There is a small amount of surface rusting on some of the bright steel parts but nothing that I would expect to be of any significance in practice. The box is a little worn but generally quite sound.
