Northern Electric – Type F MK1 – WWII Field Telephone

This telephone is in good original condition with some wear to the finish, but no damage otherwise. There are a few places on the case where the original black painted finish has chipped away. Some of the markings for identification and instructions are worn and difficult to read, however, for the most part they are clear and legible. The bells on top of the phone show noticeable tarnishing and surface corrosion. The handset is a TMC handset, which was likely replaced during WWII, as it would have been easier to find a handset from this telephone’s British counterpart. It is in very nice condition, with intact element covers and a talk button which toggles as intended. The magneto appears to be seized and does not crank. The switch hook and call buttons both toggle as intended. The phone appears to be intact internally, however, the single cell batteries which would have increased this phone’s range are no longer in place. This is an antique item, and has not been refurbished, so some age wear is to be expected.

The item is untested and being sold as is.
