Egyptian Fava Beans
( The most Egyptian National famous and popular dish)
- is
a dish of cooked fava beans served with vegetable oil, cumin, and
optionally with chopped parsley, garlic, onion, lemon juice, chili
pepper and other vegetable, herb and spice ingredients.
Suggestion for a preparation:
- Its
preferred to soak fava beans from 8 to 12 hours pre-cooking to ease the
cooking process and retain the highest nutrition value.
Ingredients:
One pack 500 gm of Al Doha , 2 spoons of yellow lentils, 5 Stuffed
garlic cloves, 3 chopped tomatoes, 1 cup Corn oil, lemon juice, small
spoon vinegar, 2 chopped green pepper, 1 Red pepper, Salt, cumin, hot
powder.
Method:
1-Soak fava beans from 8 to 12 hours pre-cooking.
2-Wash it well and but it in Cooking pot.
3-Add 8 to 10 water cups, the yellow lentils, 1 the chopped tomato.
4-Leave to to cook on a low heat for 6 hours till it become cooked.
5-If it needs some water add some until it's enough.
After beans cooked:
1-Heat the oil and fry the garlic till it turns yellow.
2-Add
the vinegar, chopped tomatoes, pepper, cumin, hot powder, and salt then
mix all well and let it on the heat till the water get low.
3-Add the lemon juice, the cooked beans and mix all together.
4-Enjoy your meal.
