An excellent disc. This is committed and fine music-making. The analogue sound from 1969 is bright and clear, one can hear everything that is going on, a major boon in late Mozart.

The box and disc are in good used condition. The box is scratchy and has a old label removed at some stage. The box is intact and functions perfectly. The disc itself plays perfectly. The insert is very good.

Peter Maag, a renowned and great conductor, is right inside the Mozartian idiom, he presides over very fine accounts. The orchestral playing from this orchestra of Hungarian emigres, is of the finest. Maag is especially impressive in the last movement of the Jupiter. All the strands of the contrapuntal writing are as clear as a bell, a huge benefit here, and, I’d assert, as clear as any account by any conductor.

This digital remastering dates from 1991.

Swiss-made disc.
