Gorham, Neoclassical pair of large sterling silver, antique, weighted, tapered candlestick holders. Oval columns rising from fluted oval base, reeded with beaded rims and topped with urn-form candleholder. Each candleholder measures 11 3/4” tall, 6” across the base and 4 3/4” in depth. Their combine weight is 1,743 grams (3.85 pounds). Each candlestick is hallmarked on the bottom, ‘ Gorham’ , (maker’s marks) the lion passant facing right, an anchor for Birmingham and the letter ‘G’ in English font, ‘Sterling 8510, Cement-Loaded Reproduction Circa 1784’.
