Description: Brooklyn, New York native Joell Ortiz is a Puerto Rican emcee and a quarter member of Slaughterhouse who established a name for himself after releasing a series of rhyme marathons entitled 125 GRAMS. After being featured in a number of high profile publications such as The Source's ''Unsigned Hype'' column and XXL's 2007 Freshman issue, Ortiz caught the attention of and was signed by legendary artist and producer Dr. Dre. After recently inking a deal with Penalty Entertainment, Joell will be releasing his highly anticipated album entitled HOUSE SLIPPERS. When asked about the conception of the album's title, Joell was quoted saying, ''The title HOUSE SLIPPERS is reflecting on the fact that I feel like I'm in a comfortable space right now, I'm at home with this album.'' Executive produced by The Heatmakerz, HOUSE SLIPPERS features contribution from both The Heatmakerz and !llmind. Some of the standout songs include the first single ''Music Saved My Life'' featuring B.O.B., the crossover anthem ''Candy'' and ''Brothers Keeper'' which boasts appearances from Joell's fellow Slaughterhouse cohorts Joe Budden, Royce da 5'9'' and Crooked I. Hip Hop heads and music aficionados alike will surely enjoy this body of work as it is destined to be deemed an instant hip hop classic.
