Handle is untreated solid wood, sanded by the manufacturer to a very smooth finish.
But, I would do some coating on it for it to last at least 2 lifetimes.
Wooden handle is not easy to remove, be wary of this.
Guys, edges of this shovel are super sharp.
This shovel will come with no retail packaging. Just a brand new shovel packed in generic cardboard box.
