Vintage Moore & Wright Precision Ground Square 6" With Original Box
I think it is a M&W No. 400 however the Model No. has been torn off the small label.
On the stock is imprinted the number "6" which I take to mean it is a Number 6.
It is stamped with "Moore & Wright Sheffield England" and the original owner's initials.
The dimensions are as follows:
Blade length (inside): 61/4 inches
Blade length (total): 71/4 inches
Blade width: 1 inch
Blade thickness: 1/16th inch
Stock length:4 inches. Stock width: 1 inch. Stock thickness: 1/2 inch
Box: 8" x 4 7/8" x 1" (203 mm x 123 mm x 25 mm)
Condition: Good. Instrument is in uncleaned state, as acquired from original and only owner. The stock has some nicks to the edges but the blade doesn't show any nicks. The box has a split to the base and both labels have been damaged.
