Whilst the nation celebrates with beach and backyard barbeques, three young individuals find themselves alone and facing racism, oppression and violence. 14-year-old indigenous girl April (Miah Madden), 17-year-old Iranian-Australian boy Sami (Elias Anton) and 19-year-old Chinese teen Lan (Jenny Wu) are all running for their lives.
