This is an original period button and is NOS(New Old Stock).
This is the "Archie Bunker, Tell it Like It Was!" Faux Presidential Campy / Comical Pin that was distributed as a promo back in 1972 to promote the Hit TV Show. The show was very controversial and still very popular, so they decided to market goofy political buttons that spoofed presidential campaign buttons of the time. We have several styles up for sale, these were never circulated and came from a defunct distributor that had them in storage for decades.
This is Tin Litho (paint over metal) and a non-locking straight pin (yes, it is sharp).
Note on condition: These are very rarely if ever found in true mint condition, but these are exceptional nice, but will have some minor shift marks for shuffling over the years, with that said, they retain superior color and are some of the best on the market as they we never used and are some of the nicer vintage pins that I have seen in a long while..
These are for adult collectors and should NOT be Given TO SMALL Children EVER!! as SAFETY STANDARDS have changed.... Sharp pins and small part can be dangerous to children and a potential choking hazard.
This is about ..3/4" inches wide (About the size of a Nickel) .
I would think these are best for Display, as they are now collectors Items.
