Milas has a unique place in Turkish hand-made carpets. The earliest known example is in Central Asia, BC. 5.

Milas carpets are double knotted, 100% wool carpets known as "Turkish knots".

According to various interpretations, its name comes from the Carian queen Ada, a contemporary of Alexander the Great, because it was first woven by people from the island of Kos, or from the stylized bunches of cloves placed on a branch. It consists of arranging the border ornaments side by side. Carpet frames with tera, carnation, cat print, leather, notch motifs are called water beds. The motifs in each water are usually repetitions of each other.
It is obtained from red root dyes, one of the colors used in Milas carpets. It is obtained from yellow vine leaves, green chasteberry leaves, dark green chaste leaves and meteorite mixtures, brown walnut shells, light brown walnut shells, second juice, black threads kept in a kind of mud for a long time.
