Horst Antes (born October 28, 1936 in Heppenheim) is a German painter, graphic artist and sculptor. Studied with HAP Grieshaber at the Academy of Fine Arts in Karlsruhe. Later himself a professor at the Academy of Fine Arts. Many of his plastics and sculptures are exhibited in public spaces. He took part in documenta III (1964), the 4th documenta (1968), and also documenta VI in 1977 in Kassel. Characteristic are his "Kopffüßler", created from 1962 onwards, in which inspiration from the kachina dolls of the Pueblo Indians played a role, which for a long time was his only motif.
