Marlec Solar iBoost+ PV Immersion Heater Control for Surplus Solar Power
Marlec’s innovative Solar iBoost+ enables you to automatically consume excess energy generated by your solar panels.
1). Solar Panels Generate Electricity at your home. Your PV solar array generates electricity which is consumed in real time in the home with any excess energy normally exported to the grid.
2. The sender clamp detects unused energy and the sender signals to the Solar iBoost+
Solar iBoost’s sender and clamp are rapidly installed at the household electricity meter. The Clamp detects when excess energy is available and the Sender wirelessly sends a signal to the Solar iBoost+ to activate water heating.
3. Solar iBoost+ Controls delivery of free excess energy to your immersion heater. Solar iBoost+ is installed next to the hot water tank and receives messages from the Sender. When activated it intelligently controls and adjusts the level of energy flowing to your immersion heater in line with the export levels as they rise and fall. Water is heated over the day using just the free solar energy. In summer this may deliver all the hot water your home demands, at other times you may need to top up using your usual heating system or simply use the built in Boost and Timed functions.
