'Oz' was an alternative/underground magazine that embodied the counterculture movement of the 1960s. Founded in Australia in 1963, this parallel UK version was published in London from 1967 to 1973, with contributors including Germaine Greer, Michael Leuing, and Philippe Mora.
This magazine led to the creators being prosecuted on charges of obscenity in both Australia and the UK.
Each issue is profusely illustrated throughout, with a variety of counterculture articles, letters written in by readers, and articles on menstruation, Van Gogh, anarchy, politics, war, and more.
Including three sheets of typed text from the White Panther Party.
Edited by Richard Neville, Paul Lawson, Jon Goodchild, and Felix Dennis.
