Photo presentation book for Japan. “We dedicate this report on the participation of the Japanese team in the 1936 Olympics in Berlin and Garmisch-Partenkirchen to our friends in Japan. HF & Ph.F.Reemtsma Alton-Bahrenfeld” (dedication of the book). - Large-format book with solid cardboard pages on which 113 b/w photos are mounted. The photos have the format 36x27 cm, 18x28 cm and 17.5x13 cm. The pictures exclusively show Japanese athletes at their competitions in Berlin and Garmisch in 1936. Some photos are from receptions of the Japanese Olympic delegation in Germany. The captions are in German and English. The most elaborately designed book with a gold-embossed cover and an attached leather Japanese flag (this one is damaged). This book was given out by the Reemstma company as a promotional gift to high-ranking Japanese politicians and Japanese customers. Only very few copies of this extraordinary book are known. It is one of the rarest books about the 1936 Olympic Games, with unique photos and information!!!!. 76 pages, 46x36x5 cm, linen, 113 b/w original photos, Hamburg 1936.
