Purple art deco jasperware with subtle gold and green detail.

This outstanding piece has no condition issues except signs of age. I did not clean it thoroughly, I just did a light wipe down. I would not want to destroy the patina that it has taken so long to develop. No chips, nicks, repairs, cracks.

It measures 5.5” tall. The base is 3”

It is signed on the bottom with the hallmark for the company, a crown over the letter R which is centered in a multi pointed star.

It has a hat pin in the very top hole, which I think matches perfectly with this piece so I want to include it. The hat pin has no issues as well. It is made of opalescent moon glass. I have not checked it’s value. It’s possible it’s uranium glass. You can check that with a special light.

The company was founded in 1880 and eventually closed in 1962. With the height of production being between 1910 and 1920. There is a picture of the company front in the photographs.

Jasperware is a fine-grained unglazed stoneware developed by English potter Josiah Wedgwood in 1775. It was widely copied and it was used at Schafer and Vater as well.
