For that special day, a special style is required. A floral theme is combined with other elements that suggest women's progress through the decades. The open side displays a provocatively curved arch. The ankle strap is paradoxically both girlish in its containment and suggestive of the wild dancing that first made the strapped pump popular in the 20s. Later in the 40s, the tall, thick heel gave a solid stature to the modern woman so she could dance through life, doing everything her leading man did, only backwards and in high heels.
