Gottfried Galston, Austrian pianist, arranger and teacher, studied with Leschetizky, Salomon Jadassohn and Reinecke. Galston performed extensively throughout Europe, Australia and New Zealand, the USA, and Russia from 1900 through 1926. He published a Studienbuch (1909; 3rd ed., Munich, 1920) and analytical notes to a series of 5 historical recitals. He moved to St. Louis, Missouri, where he taught at the St. Louis Institute of Music until his death in 1950.
