Dr Wohler KASSEL 7x,50 SEPTONAR: Cleaned, Lubed & Enhanced!

If you like German binos here is one of the second tier brands probably made in the 1960s at the height of the Cold War. A completely unnecessary and staged struggle so that our own Miltitary-Industrial complex, of which we were warned against by a retired five star general and out going president, could flourish and dominate the government. That said, a new version is in full swing so that, with the advent of AI (artificial intelligence), we shall soon be enslaved and the population reduced drastically. The recent pandemic was just a test run. Keep your powder dry and optics clean. It will get interesting, quick...

So if ya can't afford a Zeiss or Swaro, here is a really good alternative in a size and power that has come to be regarded as the work horse of binos. Easy to hold steady and those large objectives suck in as much light as the human eye can handle during dark hours. And at just a mere two pounds weight, they shoulda been stamped LIGHTWEIGHT. As they are just one ounce heavier than my similar sized featherweight TOWER branded model.

Typical of a few brands made back then, to include the higher priced LEITZ, the black pebble grained vinyl covering on the chassis is often found dried out, cracked and peeling. Here we painted the bare metal with a textured black oil based paint used in truck beds and finished off the body with a high gloss enamel. The vinyl on the objective bells was fine and we conditioned those with an automotive grade product meant for rubber and vinyl. The contrast is striking and quite handsome.

Inside we cleaned all four Bak-4 prisms. The bottom, or front, two being hatted, that is covered with brass metal sheets and also partially obscured by a gate, or extension, of the body casting so that half the prism side is shielded from incoming light. We blackened the sides of all four prisms as shown in a picture. Such should help further reduce stray light and slightly brighten views and add more contrast. Views are now jaw dropping good. One pic here was taken with the camera set so the background blurs a bit, hence the soft edges.

Lenses are in truly remarkable condition with hardly any cleaning marks! We loosened age welded eye cups. And lubed the focus wheel assembly as well as the right diopter for smooth operation. Original leather carry strap conditioned as was the case which is missing its carry strap. We added a set of deep plastic, up-cycled, ocular lens caps to help keep dust off lenses when this set is left out on a shelf for use.

We know of no other Seller who offers as much for so little. Nor one who gives others such agita with his trenchant and pithy political observations that drives Libtards to fits and spasms of pure hatred that they constantly accuse others of harboring and expressing! Of course, as a true conservative, we love all of humanity, even our enemies. Thanks for looking and God bless. Yes, we said "God." And Libtards...
