Disney animated wall clock stopped working

This is an interesting and uncommon Disney wall clock that measures 12.5 inches in diameter. It features 3 animated characters that would have rotated in time with music from a rear speaker.

The well preserved dial features a colorful Mickey dancing (with Minnie?), with a 1940s Wurlitzer jukebox in the background. The bottom third of the dial has 3 cutaways with 2-inch figurines, including 2 mice and Donald Duck. We assume these would normally rotate on the hour or quarter hour -- accompanied by musical tunes.

The time function was keeping good time in recent months but is no longer working. The animation is not powering on, although the electronics and battery power connections appear to be untouched. It measures 12.5 inches in diameter and about 2.5 inches deep. In the past, we were able to activate the musical function without disturbing the electrical components and took detailed closeup photos of the mechanism for the ultimate collector. Nothing else has been disturbed.

The original second hand was not replaced during reassembly but is intact and included
with the clock.

Power to the clock is provided by a single AA battery installed at the back. Nearby are  slots for 4 more AA batteries to power the animation and musical chimes. There was some minor battery leakage to one slot but it was neutralized and cleaned up.

Battery cover doors at the rear are missing.

Only identification we could find on the rear was Item No. YUM08KCA and Color: Champagne. A small copyright stamp added to the rear appears to be in Japanese letters.
