Healthy Stress Balls were first sold as a plaything and enjoyed wide popularity in China. Later the Balls were universally acknowledged by the medical circle as a great way to stimulate blood circulation, and according to the manufacturers, can relax muscles and joints. The Balls when used regularly can cure numbness and trembling of the fingers and arthritis in the fingers and wrists. Healthy balls were invented during Ming Dynasty and at that time were solid and were sometimes used a weapon. The Balls remined solid until Qing Dynasty when they were hollowed out and two sound boards of different pitch were added to make the chiming sounds.
