Bonneville del.", darunter bezeichnet "bezeichnet: "Emm. Pastoret. Né à Marseille du Conseil des Cinq cents". Bonneville porträtierte Pastoret im Dreiviertelprofil. Der Dargestellte scheint einen milden Charakter zu haben. Ein Lächeln umspielt seine schön geschwungenen Lippen, freundlich blicken seine großen Augen. Die weiße Perücke ist über den Ohren zu einer langen Rolle eingeschlagen. Unter dunkler Jacke trägt Pastoret ein weißes Hemd mit auffälligem Rüschenkragen. Emmanuel Pastoret gehörte vom 18. August 1796 bis zum 21. September 1796 dem Rat der Fünfhundert an. François Bonneville (erste Erwähnung 1796, letzte Erwähnung 1802) war Porträtmaler, Kupferstecher, Radierer und Verleger. Bonneville wurde durch sein vierbändiges Werk Portr. des personnages célèbres de la Révolution mit Anmerkungen von P. Quenard bekannt. Das Werk enthält 200 Porträts (Kupferstiche und Radierungen) nach eigenen Zeichnungen, die er teilweise selbst gestochen hat. Portr. des personnages célèbres de la Révolution ist von großer zeitgeschichtlicher Bedeutung, da hier von vielen Persönlichkeiten der Revolutionszeit die einzigen authentischen Bildnisse enthalten sind.

Bonneville del.", inscribed below: "inscribed: "Emm. Pastoret. Né à Marseille du Conseil des Cinq cents". Bonneville portrayed Pastoret in three-quarter profile. The sitter seems to have a mild character. A smile plays around his beautifully curved lips, his large eyes look friendly. The white wig is curled into a long roll over the ears. Underneath a dark jacket, Pastoret wears a white shirt with a striking ruffled collar. Emmanuel Pastoret was a member of the Council of the Five Hundred from 18 August 1796 to 21 September 1796. François Bonneville (first mention 1796, last mention 1802) was a portrait painter, engraver, etcher and publisher. Bonneville became known for his four-volume work Portr. des personnages célèbres de la Révolution with annotations by P. Quenard. The work contains 200 portraits (copper engravings and etchings) after his own drawings, some of which he engraved himself. Portr. des personnages célèbres de la Révolution is of great contemporary historical importance, as it contains the only authentic portraits of many personalities of the revolutionary period.

  • Condition: Good condition. The image makes a good impression. The sheet is foxed and discoloured in the margins due to its age, with traces of glue in the left margin; the image is slightly wavy and occasionally rubbed.
