  • Beschreibung: Kupferstich eines unbekannten Künstlers, unter der Darstellung bezeichnet: "Kurfürst Ernst". Das Bruststück zeigt den Herrscher mit pelzbesetztem Mantel und langem Bart. Seine mächtige Gestalt nimmt die gesammte Breite des Bildes ein. Ernst, Kurfürst von Sachsen, Herzog von Sachsen und Landgraf in Thüringen (1441 - 1486) war Begründer der ernestinischen Linie der Wettiner.

  • Zustand: Guter Zustand. Die Darstellung macht einen guten Eindruck. Das Blatt ist altersbedingt gebräunt und stockfleckig sowie in den Rändern leicht verschmutzt; die Umrisslinie des Hauptes wurde mit Bleistift nachgezogen; verso an den Ecken winzige Klebestreifen einer früheren Montage.

  • Description: Engraving by an unknown artist, inscribed below the depiction: "Kurfürst Ernst". The chest piece shows the ruler with fur-trimmed coat and long beard. His powerful figure occupies the entire width of the picture. Ernst, Elector of Saxony, Duke of Saxony and Landgrave in Thuringia (1441 - 1486) was the founder of the Ernestine line of the Wettins.

  • Condition: Good condition. The depiction makes a good impression. The sheet is browned and foxed due to its age as well as slightly soiled in the margins; the outline of the head was traced in pencil; at the back side's corners tiny adhesive strips of an earlier mounting.
