This rare UK edition of Mark Twain's 'Life On The Mississippi' is a true gem for any avid collector of antique books. Printed in 1897 in London by Chatto & Windus, this hardback edition weighs 500g and is adorned with beautiful illustrations. More than the previous editions.

The book is written in English and showcases Twain's exceptional storytelling skills. Additionally, this limited edition comes with inscribed personalization of the first owner, making it a unique addition to any collection. Don't miss the opportunity to own this original piece of literature from the United Kingdom.

I found this copy in my father's collection. His is one of the names inscribed as previous ownership.

This specific copy is 'one of a kind' as there is an error made in the cutting of the paper. Please take a look at the photos for a better description.

This book is also known as the 'New Edition' by the publishers, as stated on the title page, which means it has an extra 12 illustrations compared to  the previous editions.

It includes Mark Twains' famous trademark printed on the first page.

The publisher has also added 32 extra pages listing the other books they have published at the end of the book, which is very interesting reading.

These extra pages also have some cutting issues, i.e. some of the pages are of a different length. Approx 1cm.

As shown in the photos, the condition is fair to good.

The typography and illustrations are still strong, and the pages are all intact and attatched together.

The picture of the Baton Rouge in the front of the book still has the original tissue paper covering.

The pages, naturally, have some age related discolouring on the edges.

The spine has handling wear and tear. It may have been glued at some point, I'm not too sure, but someone has attempted to put 2 small white label stickers to support the front cover at least 45 years ago.

I'm sure they can be removed with some care.

There are some very small stains and scratches to the front and back cover but nothing major.

I've taken photos of the condition for you to look at, so please only buy with this knowledge in mind.

The book was printed 126 years ago and was cherished by a few different owners over the years.

I would love for a collector to buy this and take good care of it and keep it safe for future generations.

Please look at my other items and get ready to explore a treasure trove of goodies! These are all mine, my husbands, my daughters or my father's items, as we are having a huge home clearance due to my father's alzheimer's and needing cash to help him and have more space. He's an avid collector of anything interesting and who passed this onto me, thankfully.

I've got everything from antique & vintage to modern stuff - clothes, shoes, designer bags, books (both vintage and modern), awesome art pieces, vinyl records, super cool rare posters from the 80s & 90s, DVDs, CDs, VHS, blu rays, rare vintage sheet music, plush toys, collectables, and so much more!

And guess what? You can start bidding on some items from just 99p! 🎉

If you grab some lighter items, I'll even combine the postage to save you some cash.

Plus, every purchase you make will go towards helping my lovely elderly father, who's dealing with Alzheimer's, take a special trip back to his home in Australia 🇦🇺, and just to make life easier for him by creating some space and modifications for his safety.

Your support is beyond appreciated. Thanks a bunch, and happy bidding! 😊
