A very unique sculpture that appears to depict Prince Rama with the head of the Demon Ravan who, in Hindu mythology, was defeated by Ram to gain back his beloved wife Sita in a historic classic tale Ramayana. The Ramayana story has been translated from the original Sanskrit into hundreds of languages throughout the world & has been a classic theatrical performance in countless nations.

This is a beautiful, intricately carved wooden statue, in super condition for its age; just a couple of minor chips at the surface, which may possible due to the statue being used as a lamp base at some point, or incense stick holder. Stunning none the less.
Extra large and solid wood throughout, with slight variation in colour in a couple of places.

Size:
H 48cm
W 18cm
D 11.5cm. All approx.
The base is somewhat triangular in shade.
