Die Frau, die Wasserholen kommt und ihn und seine Herde zu trinken gibt, soll die zukünftige Frau Isaaks, Sohn des Abrahams werden. Rebekka, Bethuels Tochter aus der Familie Abrahams stammend, erfüllt bereitwillig seine Wünsche, folgt ihm, um Isaaks Frau zu werden.

The woman who comes to fetch water and gives him and his flock to drink is to become the future wife of Isaac, son of Abraham. Rebekah, Bethuel's daughter from Abraham's family, willingly fulfils his wishes, follows him to become Isaac's wife.
