You cannot connect itunes from the app on the ipod
Download itunes to a computer and connect the ipod to the computer. Open itunes on your computer and you will see your ipod. From here you can download and transfer music to the ipod. You can also transfer any music you have on the computer as long as it is part of the media library in itunes which you can add if you haven’t. Movies and video work same way and apps.
You can also update it if needed. These can be updated to version 6.1x if not done already via itunes
You can connect to wifi to access online things on the ipod
Battery will need a full charge so charge before use
