Two facsimile maps of Thomas Johnston's 1754 maps of the Kennebec Region in Maine.

The maps were reproduced by the Massachusetts Historical Society via photolithography and printed on Japan paper in 1912.

The larger map measures 31.5" x 22" and was originally issued in 1754. It shows the Kennebec and Sagadahock Rivers. The smaller map measures 11.75" x 8.75", supplementing the larger map.

The maps are folded in a cloth case, with the MHS prospectus tipped in.

The small map is toned at the folds, has a slightly creased corner and is just beginning to split at the center point. The larger map is also toned at the folds and beginning to split along some of the folds and at the intersections of folds. The cloth case has rubbing and wear at the corners and some fraying to the cloth at the spine ends.
