60 Degree Dead Center Tip and 60 Degree center in the back.

Made from Hardened 4140 Steel.

Made in the USA.

Center has a 0.50" shank and projects 0.797" from the face of the 5C body.

When we got our Hardinge HLV-H lathe, we wanted to turn some highly concentric parts between centers, but were dismayed to discover that 5C dead centers are not easy to obtain and no long being made.  Because we have access to a CNC lathe, we decided to make our own 5c dead center, and then we made a few more.

When putting the center into 5C holders, be sure that the holder has a positive way to unseat the dead center, otherwise you will likely need to disassemble the 5C holder to remove the dead center.
