1930 Rare Uncut Wooden Jigsaw Puzzle Thomas Moran 1904 Mounted Lithograph Grand Canyon

Thomas Moran 1904 Mounted Lithograph Grand Canyon

This is an uncut jigsaw puzzle board. During the Depression (ca. 1930) Frank Graves in Amherst MA made a number of wood jigsaw puzzles for sale and rent. (I've included the photo of his handmade sign so you get the idea, but that's not for sale). On this one, he only got to the point of laminating the lithograph onto the board. It's extremely rare to find a vintage jigsaw puzzle at this stage of creation.

The picture shows a lone rider on the left heading for the Grand Canyon.

The print is 16" X 12"

The board is 20" X 12"

Litho laminated on 3/16" plywood

There is some spotting on the print, probably from the lignin of the board it's mounted on. Slight fraying on upper right corner. Also minor abrasion.
