On offer today is a splendid genuine Sheffield Sterling Silver Ferruled Mother of Pearl Handled Letter Opener which is very pleasing on the eyes. The piece has a genuine steel blade. The handle is hand carved out of Mother of Pearl and is in fantastic condition for the age.
The ferrule is hallmarked with the with the letter E for 1922 along with the Lion Passant, Crown and the Makers mark for the sought after George Bishop. The item is in great condition as the photos reflect. The Letter opener is 19.5 cm in length and weighs 32 grammes.
The item is cased for you or as a gift.
It is a very desirable piece and would cost an awful lot of money in a retail outlet today.
