Sandra Victorino Fine Line Acoma Black and White Seed Pot

This beautiful black and white Acoma seed pot was created by Sandra Victorino of the Acoma Pueblo. This 3½” inches tall by 3½” wide seed pot is in her well-known "Snowflake and Fine Line" design. The design of this pot and much of her work is her interpretation of the classic Acoma seed pot that was used for centuries for actual storage of harvest seeds.

Sandra Victorino is a full-blooded Native American Indian born into the Pueblo of Acoma in 1958After watching her grandmother, Frances Torivio, make pottery all through her childhood, Sandra began working with clay around the age of ten. Frances taught Sandra the traditional methods of hand-coiling and pit-firing and another inspiration for her were the incomparable geometric patterns she learned from her famous aunt, Dorothy Torivio. Sandra has won many awards for her work and her pottery is displayed in the Heard Museum Art Collections as well as in many private collections. Her work has great collector value.
