It has a waxy/oily feel vs nylon and is less prone to flyaways and static while rerooting.  Used in most Barbie dolls, it has thinner strands and a heavier feeling. It doesn't hold a curl as well as nylon, but is great for straight hair styles. Shimmer Locks saran comes directly from the sole Japanese manufacturer that supplies Mattel, Integrity, Takara, and many of the world's leading toy companies!
