We are both the oldest surviving members of our families. As life-long collectors, and inheritors from those who have Gone Before, we must move on some of our Stuff before that (hopefully far-off) day when it becomes our children’s responsibility. Happy to combine for cheaper postage but PLEASE WAIT for combined invoice from me or ask me for one; postage discounts can only be given on combined purchases paid for on a single invoice.

These postcards are almost all addressed to Mrs Robert Bannerman of "Bryanston," 28 Kooyong-road, Malvern, VIC. She was the wife of Robert Bannerman, who worked for Lincoln Stuart & Co General Outfitters. One postcard refers to him as “Captain”, there is a suggestion he was part of a local Militia, training cadets. They had married in 1896  and had 2 sons Hugh Norman and Robert Stuart. Emma had been born at Hartwell VIC in 1866 to George Henry Smith and his wife Emma. She had 7 siblings who survived to adulthood – most of these cards are from her brothers and sisters or their children. Dates seem to range c1904 – 1909. These cards show scenes in Melbourne and suburbs. Many of the cards have been placed into protective clear slips so are in very good condition. For some of the larger lots I could not be bothered taking the cards put of the slips to photograph them, so if there are reflections or flares from the plastic, I apologise. Happy to combine.

    My Items

The items I sell are vintage; they are second hand, old, sometimes very old. I try to describe and photograph my items honestly and to the best of my ability; however if pristine condition is very important to you, I feel you should be buying from a regular shop, where you can inspect the items personally. Please note that all my items are sold "as is", with no warranty implied, and that the photos form part of the description, which should be read carefully. IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM PLEASE CONTACT ME FIRST.

Shipping and Payment Terms; Combining Items

If you win more than one item in a listing please wait for a combined invoice from me to save you on postage and insurance costs. I always wait until the last item in an auction listing finishes before sending invoices in case buyers win more than one item. If you win an item and are planning to bid on an item in a later-finishing auction, please email me to let me know, and I will wait until that auction has finished to send you a combined invoice.

International buyers please note: Import duties, taxes and charges are not included in the item price or postage charges. These charges are the buyer's responsibility. Please check with your country's Customs Office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to bidding. These charges are normally collected by the delivering freight (postage) company or when you pick the item up – do not confuse them for additional postage charges.

    Problem with a Transaction?

PLEASE contact me first. I am a reasonable human being; if there is a problem I am sure we can work something out that will satisfy us both. Involving eBay should be a last resort – something I hope will not be necessary. Contact Seller is under More Actions on your Purchase History page, or simply Reply to the email I sent when I posted your item.
