This is a miniature 16-Piece child’s Tea Set that is transfer printed in a striking Black, the pattern name is ‘CHINTZ.’  The plates and saucers are marked on the bottom which enables us to identify the maker positively as Ridgways, Stoke-on-Trent, and the Registry Date of January 7, 1882.  This is a very lively and striking geometric pattern with butterflies, vines, and flowers.  This 16-Piece miniature child’s Tea Set consists of:

(1)   Teapot with Lid:  3.5” H

Chip to corner edge of Lid

(1)   Sugar:  1.875” H

(1)   Creamer:  2” H

(1)   Waste Bowl:  2.25” H

(4)   Plates:  4.5” D

(4)   Cups:  1.75” H

Rough top edge small area to one cup.

(4)   Saucers:  3.5” D

Please ignore the white glare reflections in the photos.  This miniature child’s Tea Set is in excellent condition, with the exceptions noted above.  Transfer skips and smudges, light crazing, and minor typical firing imperfections may appear sporadically consistent with production from this period of time, but nothing that diminishes the display value.  Presented as is and as found.
