The adventure begins as the men of the Mason escort convoys across the treacherous North Atlantic, battle U-boats, and survive the storm of the century. They do all this while fighting racism from individual sailors from within the Navy itself. Nothing Stops them. In glamorous war-time Harlem, shipmate Hank Fields plays sax at the nightclub where Graham falls in love with Buchanan's sister and charms her mother.

DuFau loves Collette. But today, history hasforgotten the U.S.S. Mason and the young men are determined to change this.
