A charming travel work documenting a summer and winter spent in Norway, by Diana de Vere Beauclerk.
Beauclerk set out at the age of 24 to Norway in the summer of 1867 alongside her mother and their maid, this being a narrative account which does not attempt to be a guidebook.
Illustrated with a frontispiece, and three plates, from the author's own sketches.
Diana de Vere Beauclerk was the wife of the eminent criminal lawyer Sir Walter Huddleston, and also published 'True Love'.
Four pages of adverts to the rear.

CONDITION
In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, generally smart. Vertical mark to the spine. Bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Cloth to the joint is a little cockled, with a small patch of cockling to the fore edge of the rear board. Light marks to the boards and spine. Front hinge is weak, rear hinge is strained. Institutional label to the front paste down and to the recto of the front endpaper. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean, with the occasional handling mark. A couple of neat pencil notes to the margins. Institutional stamp to the title page, institutional ink to the verso of the title.
