  • Inscription: Titled below the depiction. Verso numbered "1418" and inscribed with the sitter's life data and illegible collector's name. Portrait of the Spanish general and politician Baldomero Espartero (1792 Granátula de Calatrava - 1879 Logrono); several times head of the Spanish government and from 1841 to 1843 regent of the country in place of the minor Queen Isabella II. He bore the epithet "The Pacifier of Spain".
