blade has old genuine Damascus steel (sekela) blade, but not wootz steel. blade is in original condition with pitting & patina probably
a good quality fighting blade dating from the nineteenth century. it have very clearly visible pattern, Single edge blade, and little rust can been seen on blade or sword hilt. sword handle has fine silver mughal koftgari work. back side has sun-rise flower design. it has knuckle guard for safety finger. the work almost alive on it. sword hilt has little rust pitting & patina. cover made from wood and red velvet. it's added later. The grip would comfortably fit a full, but smaller hand than today's
average hand size. A very good piece for beginner's collection. Tulwar/ sword is approximately 33"/84 cm overall length & blade approx. 28"/71 cm. I have described the item best as per my knowledge. Please see every image carefully for
