Author Biography

MICHAEL MCFEE's previous book, Earthly (2001), was co-winner of the Roanoke-Chowan Award for Poetry from the North Carolina Literary and Historical Society and was an honorable mention for the Poet's Prize. His other collections of poems are Colander, To See (a collaboration with photographer Elizabeth Matheson), Sad Girl Sitting on a Running Board, Vanishing Acts, and Plain Air. He has edited a fiction anthology, This Is Where We Live: Short Stories by 25 Contemporary North Carolina Writers, and a poetry anthology, The Language They Speak Is Things to Eat: Poems by Fifteen Contemporary North Carolina Poets. He is a professor of English at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill.
