Rattlesnake Island Local Post Stamps (RILP) NEW 2023 Battle of Lake Erie. RILP has started up local airmail service between Rattlesnake Island and Port Clinton Via Griffing Flying Services. The USPS contracts with Griffing Flying Service to fly mail from the 4 neighboring islands in the western basis of Lake Erie but continues to deny Rattlesnake Island the right to have mail service. This was the reason Dr. Frackelton started the RILP in 1966 and is still the reason for the relaunch.

The new 2023 stamps were released on Sept. 10th, 2023 the 210th anniversary of the Battle of Lake Erie
RSI 202 & 205 - .50 - Oliver H Perry transferring from the Brig Lawence to the Brig Niagara
RSI 203 & 206 - .75 - Commadore Oliver Hazard Perry
RSI 204 & 207 - 1.00 - The US Brig Niagara

The Battle of Lake Erie was an important battle during the war of 1812 as the victory gave the U.S. control of the part of the Great Lakes. The battle took place a couple of miles east of Rattlesnake Island.

You will receive both styles of perforations. The standard perf 12 and a die-cut imperf of each of the 3 designs. Scan of stamps is a stock photo. The stamps were designed by Beth Lynne Gregerson who also designed last year's relaunch of Rattlesnake Island Local Post (RILP). She also designed the last 4 RILP local post issues from 2007 - 2010. These beautiful stamps were unveiled at the national Great American Stamp Show (GASS) on the stage in August.

For reduced S & H fees on multiple items, please request invoice when bidding is completed if wishing to combine these stamps with other periodic auctioned items. I also discount multiple sets purchased. $2.00 for the first set and .50 per additional sets. Please commit to buy, then send a invoice request so I can adjust the S & H fees and then pay. (Have not figured out how to have eBay calculate it correctly)
