Frame size: 12.5 x 14.5"

I am not an art expert and am describing as best as I can. The painting is signed in the left bottom corner with the name H Kotschenreiter. From the minimum research that I did, I found that the German Genre style of this painting matches what Hugo Kotschenreiter would typically paint.

Joh. H. Georg Gottlieb Kotschenreiter, in full Johann Hugo Georg Gottlieb Kotschenreiter (born January 6, 1854 in Hof; † April 22, 1908 in Munich) was a German Genre painter and illustrator.

Kotschenreiter began his studies at the Nuremberg School of Applied Arts, where he studied architecture from 1869 to 1871. From November 11, 1872 he continued his studies at the Royal Academy of Arts in Munich with Sándor Wagner and from 1875 to 1890 with Carl Theodor von Piloty. He was also a private student of Wilhelm von Diez.

Kotschenreiter mainly painted traditional Bavarian costume portraits and genre scenes from everyday life in Bavarian villages. Many of his works came onto the American art market.

Kotschenreiter exhibited his works in the Munich Glass Palace. They also appeared in the magazine Die Gartenlaube.

His works include: in the collections of the Neue Pinakothek and the Städtische Galerie im Lenbachhaus.
