Description: 2 volumes, 8vo, pp. [34], [524]; [546]; lexicon in double column; contemporary full calf, gilt-paneled spine, maroon morocco label (missing on volume 1); joints cracked, upper cover loose on volume I, otherwise cords holding, extremities worn; good copy, unrestored. With the early ownership signature in both volumes of "Jacobi Gibbs, Linc. Coll. Oxon 1777." The first octavo was published in London, 1756, abridged by Johnson; Dublin editions followed in 1 volume in 1758 and 1768.
