GLEN MORISTON.
This beautiful glen is the watercourse of the River Moriston, which descends from the small Loch Clunie into Loch Ness, reaching the latter at Invermoriston, the seat of the Grants, where there is also a pier and an hotel. About half a mile up are Moriston Falls, and the glen is beautifully wooded for many miles. At Torgyle, nine miles from the mouth, are several churches. It was through this glen that Dr. Johnson travelled more than a century ago on his well-known visit to the Western Isles, and at that time (according to Boswell) the country appears to have been somewhat savage as well as wild, but the route has now bcoms one. of the most popular and frequented by tourists for Skye and the West Coast.
