This listing is for an April 22, 1920 publication of the Mid-Week pictorial of the New York Times. The cover features the New York Giants’ manager John McGraw holding the team’s mascot, a Mexican wildcat names Billy.

This issue is particularly valuable because it contains the first published look at Babe Ruth in a New York Yankees uniform. Ruth had been sold to the Yankees by the Boston Red Sox for $125,000 after hitting 24 homers the previous season. This issue contains further vintage baseball photography, including photos of Zach Wheat, George Kelly, and Frank Frisch.

This issue is in low grade as the covers are detached, but it is otherwise in very good condition with only a few tears that do not impact key photos.

Please be sure to look at my other items as I am glad to combine shipping costs, and feel free to email with any questions.
