NICELY CARVED & SHAPED REVOLUTIONARY WAR PERIOD POWDER HORN 

DESCRIPTION: Another really nice & unusual antique Revolutionary War period POWDER HORN from my personal collection, used to store gun powder by individual riflemen for use with their flintlock muskets. 

This one has nice curves and a nice shape, has a very nicely carved pouring end.  Large size, measuring about 12 1/2" along its length. Pouring end is unusual and VERY MUCH THE STYLE OF A REVOLUTIONARY WAR POWDER HORN.  

Has a very large number of nice early tiny handmade iron nails to hold the wooden butt plug in. BUTT PLUG FiTS NICELY. 

This has all the attributes, design, style, patina, size, and look of a Revolutionary War period horn. Has really nice color, markings, and horn characteristics. HAS A PARTICULARLY NICE CURVE AND TWIST TO IT.  Has a great look, for addition to a collection or to hang with a musket over a fireplace. 

nice condition, and only 1 tiny chip at the edge by one of the iron nails holding butt plug, as shown.  A particularly nice horn, from an early Massachusetts estate.
