LYNMOUTH.
There is nothing to eqtial this lovely spot even on the far-famed coast of Devon; sea, river, crags, and wood meet together to make an artist's dream. Lynton and Lynmouth are practically an upper and lower town—the one perched upon crags hundreds of feet above, the other on the veritable mouth of the Lyn as it enters the sea. The East and West Lyn join near this mouth, separating higher up into two wild glens of incomparable beauty. The shore consists of rocks and boulders; there is an old pier, and a quaint little tower on the quay. Glenlyn, the valley of the West Lyn, is private ground, but visitors are admitted for a small fee. Rising above, is seen Hollardy Hill, which is 900 feet high; up its face is an inclined railway lift to Lynton, worked by loading the down-car with water,
